The C6 Corvette Grand Sport became the most popular model and accounted for half of sales. By the end of 1953, Corvette production had moved to St. Louis, Missouri, and by 1954, 3,640 Corvettes had been built.

In 1981, Chevrolet moved most of its production to Bowling Green, Kentucky, where only Corvetes are produced today. A last Corvette convertible was available in 1975, before returning in 1986, but only for a limited period.

1957, the Corvette was the fastest model money could buy, and in 1962,
under the leadership of the accomplished Arkus Duntov, it became a fast,
profitable racing model - a winning model that helped Chevy build a
sporty image. Meanwhile, Style bought the hastily developed Corvette -
an SS Super Sport racing car developed by ArkUS Duntsov.

took five years, but Fla. Duntaov managed to get a Corvette bred for
the track when he decided to buy the Z06 package for a 1963 Corvette.
